@tdrider2008 3 strides isn’t enough to call a late hit. stevens was just finishing his check. kariya was too busy admiring his pass to see stevens, so he got nailed. the reason some people are pissed about this hit is because kariya isn’t a fighter. if stevens did this to someone like tie domi or sean avery, everyone would be laughing.

a good hitter would put you out of the play for long enough that it almost seems like a power play for a while.
those are called good hits. all those other hits did not directly lead to goals where as this one did.
